Hosted an Advocacy Day press conference on March 26, 2024, to shed light on challenges survivors and caregivers face once formalized care in a hospital or rehab facility has ended. Most often, they are left on their own to overcome adversity and find appropriate resources and support to continue their pursuit of the best outcome and normalcy possible.

The continuum of Care proposal would establish a resource facilitation and care coordination program to provide necessary information and connections to doctors, rehabilitation services, and other community-based services to improve outcomes and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and medical care.

The Outcome of the above appeal to the NYS legislature: approximately $300,000 was earmarked in the state budget to facilitate the acquisition of resources for brain injury survivors.

BIANYS is dedicated to protecting and expanding specialized services for individuals affected by brain injury. We welcome survivors, caregivers, family members, and advocates to share their personal stories, meet with legislators, witness the legislative process, and advocate for increased funding for the Continuum of Care for Resource Facilitation program.

Last year, passionate advocates from across the state gathered at the Capitol to make their voices heard. Let’s build on that momentum in 2025—because together, our voice is stronger!
