Offer family caregivers discussion groups on Facebook.
Although AARP's mission is to serve the senior population, many of its resources will benefit both the older and the younger TBI population. Resources include state caregiver resource guides, a list of government agencies, educational opportunities, helpful tools, and occasions to connect with other caregivers.
Ger information on local resources and services that can assist caregivers with issues such as health insurance, in-home care, legal matters and more.
AARP has created an official group to give caregivers a place to connect, share practical tips, offer support, and discuss family caregiving experiences. The moderator responds to group members' requests, questions, and comments posted in the Discussion within 24-48 hours. Follow the instructions to join the group.
AARP offers a variety of resources to help you learn how to provide in-home care, how to set up a care team, ensure home safety, and find respite services.
